Ancient Coinage of Arabia, Philippopolis



Philippopolis in Syria (modern day Shahba) is 87 km south of Damascus in Syria, formerly in the Roman province of Arabia Petraea. There are many interesting remains, including an amphitheatre and the Philippeion monument.
