Countermark: X in circular punch (before bust); also oblong shape (before bust). Rev: AVGOVCTANWN, ETGLC in ex. Emperor in quadriga, seen from front, looking left, right hand raised, standard in left hand. Ref: Sear 4343; BMC 13; Howgego 692. Die Axis: 360°. Weight: 21.16 g. Year 233 of the era of Augusta, or A.D. 252-353. The countermark is likely not a denominational mark indicating a value of ten (assaria) since Roman numerals were not in use.
