SYRIA, Coele-Syria. Heliopolis. Otacilia Severa, 
wife of Philip I. Augusta, 244-249 AD. Æ 28mm 
(18.07 gm, 7h). OTACILIA SEVERA AVG, diademed and 
draped bust right, set on crescent / COL IVL [AVG 
FEL], HEL in exergue, Tyche standing facing, 
holding rudder set on globe, and cornucopiae; male 
figures standing on either side, each holding a 
wreath in upraised hand; all within billowing 
canopy held by female figures (Nikai), each set on 
cippus; the whole on a low basis. BMC Galatia 24; 
SNG Copenhagen 436; Lindgren & Kovacs 2166. Near 
EF, black-green patina, traces of brick-red on 
reverse. Well-struck and attractive specimen.
