MARCIA OTAC-ILIA SEVERA AVG, draped bust right on crescent, wearing stephane / CONCORDIA AVGVSTI, Philip I and Otacilia clasping hands: Philip standing right, laureate, togate, holding roll in left hand; Otacilia standing left, draped and veiled, holding slanting sceptre in left hand. Unique: only the second recorded coin with this reverse type, and the first with this type and the long obverse legend (first issue). Extremely fine This eastern mint used a long form of the obverse legend for its initial issue, then replaced it with MARC OTACI SEVERA AVG. This coin is only the second recorded antoninianus with the long form of the legend (the other has the reverse type PIETAS AVG N). Philip II is not represented in the mint's inaugural issue, indicating that it was struck before he was proclaimed Caesar, thus between March 244 and July 244.
