Laureate bust right, drapery at shoulder / COL LAV IVL COR, fountain in the 
form of a meta sudans (turning post in stadium). See Price and Trell fig.113 
for identical reverse type under Domitian. BCD 632; SNG Copenhagen -. 
Near VF, brown and green patina, earthen highlights. Very Rare.  

The Meta Sudans in Rome was a monumental fountain conceived as part of the 
Colosseum complex planned by Titus, and appears on his famous Colosseum 
sestertius. There is no documentary or archaeological evidence for such a 
fountain in Corinth, but it would have been appropriate for the site of the 
Isthmian games.
