Amisos Pontos AR 18 mm, 'drachm', 2.92 gm. GIC 1139; Von Aulock 80. There should be a Malloy ref too, but I don't have it. "It appears to be a drachm of a fascinating series of coinage issued by the Greek city of Amisos, Pontos. Hadrian visited there and was so delighted with his visit, he authorized the city to strike silver coinage, a privilege restricted to very few provincial cities. A small book on this series was published by Alex Malloy several years ago. I don't have the book, so I can't give you a Malloy reference."
