Faustina I. AR Denarius. DIVA AVG FAVSTINA, draped bust right. PVELLAE FAVSTINIANAE, Antoninus and Faustina standing left on platform, both leaning forwards to receiving a little girl held up by a citizen, another citizen beneath the platform running left, pushing a second little girl before him. This moving reverse refers to the poor girls' charity and orphanage established by Antoninus in memory of his beloved, deceased wife, who did so much for the women and the poor of Rome. Rare.
