Because KIBWTON (greek for wooden case, chest) was used in the NT for Noah's Ark it was suggested that Kibyra was the place where Noah has landed after the Flood. Therefore it became a place of pilgrimage. Contributed by Hans-Joachim Hoeft, December, 2006.
