(Note: Some people may think that this coin is one of 
Caracalla, but he made Edessa a colony only a few weeks before 
he was killed, and so it is unlikely that any coins were struck 
with such a young-looking Caracalla and the KOLW (Colony) 
reverse legend. Babelon and other numismatic scholars agree 
that these coins were struck by Elagabalus who
issued a large number of coins from Edessa.
