Roman Victory Type AR Denarius of COMMODUS 192 AD, during the final year of the reign of Commodus, who ruled from 177-192 AD. The obverse of this type depicts the laureate head of Commodus facing right, with legends L.AEL.AVREL.COMM.AVG.P.FEL. The reverse features Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm, star in field left, with legends P.M.TR.P.XVII.IMP.VIII.COS.VII.P.P. Coin is struck on a smallish flan, but otherwise grades F, with clear devices and most legends visible where struck up. A very decent example of this final year type, RSC-568a.
