  figure. Sydenham 60 var; SNG von Aulock 6351; c/m Howgego 424. Fine, dark green

 Howgego notes that the countermark relates to the 9th year 
of Claudius' rule, 49 AD. He speculates that, as this would 
be only one year after the coins were struck, it is 
 possible that they did not go into circulation until 49 AD.
