A coin with significant historical connections. 
On January 1, 41 AD, Caligula became consul for 
the fourth time. On January 24 of that year, a 
group of conspirators, led by the Praetorian 
Prefect, Cassius Chaerea, assassinated the emperor 
in an underground tunnel on the Palatine. 
The editors of the revised edition of RIC I 
neglected to include this issue in the corpus.
