CAVINO. IT IS NOT A GENUINE ANCIENT COIN. These medals have been popular
with collectors for years.

Caligula, Æ cast "sestertius", (20.00g) after Cavino, probably 18th or 19th
century, imitating types of Rome Mint, 37 AD, C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M
TR POT Laureate head left. / AGRIPPINA DRVSILLA IVLIA Three sisters of
Caligula as goddesses, SC in exergue. cf. RIC 33; C 4; and BMC 36. EF,
brown patina.

Always popular with collectors, Cavino produced struck "sestertii" of Roman
style, in the 16th century. This is an early cast.
