CAE–SAR, Trophy with Gallic shield and carnyx; axe on right. Babelon Julia 26; Cohen 18. Hybrid of Syd. 1010 (obv) and 1009 (rev) and of Sear Imp. 12 (obv) and 11 (rev). and Crawford 452/2 (obv) and 452/4-5 (rev). An apparently unlisted hybrid. Ex Sincona sale 17, 2014, 107. Estimate: 5000 CHF With permission of Numismatica Ars Classica, Auction 80, Oct. 20 October 2014, lot 48. Notes: Not only is the style of Crawford 452/4-5 more delicate and refined than the 452/2 coin, but more importantly the design of the hair in the chignons are completely different. In Crawford 452/4-5 the hair appears to be designed as curls simply tied in a bun, whilst in 452/2 the hair seems to be held covered by a veil; these particular characteristics are only found on obverses of Crawford 452/4 and 5 and never on the ones of 452/2.
