12h). Goat kneeling right, head reverted / 
Janiform head, the head on the left a youthful 
male with ram's-head headdress, the right an older 
bearded male with lion's-head(?) headdress. 
Meshorer & Qedar 144. Good VF, toned, struck from 
worn obverse die. ($300)

Although M&Q describe the animal as a crouching 
stag, it is clearly a goat copied from the staters 
of Kelenderis in Cilicia (SNG Levante 21). There 
are several varieties of Cilician fractions with 
janiform heads, but apparently none with the 
additional animal heads. The obverse and reverse 
are inverted from their order in M&Q.
