Ancient Coinage of Palestine, Eleutheropolis


Eleutheropolis ("free city"), an ancient city of Palestine, between Jerusalem and Gaza, modern Beit Jibrin. Formerly called Betogabra, the town was renamed by Septimius Severus during his Syrian visit in 202 AD.
