      1258/9–1282). Æ trachy (2.99 gm). Thessalonica. Large 
      star / Half-length figures of Michael VIII and Virgin, 
      together holding patriarchal cross between them, two 
      stars flanking upper crossbar. DO pl. 9, 152–154. Sear 
      2311. Very rare. Brown patina with patches of earthen 
      encrustation. Two flan cracks. Nearly very fine
