                        BLACK SEA REGION. Panticapaeum. Ca. 320 BC. Gold stater 
                        (9.01 gm). Head of Pan left, wreathed with ivy / P-A-N, 
                        lion-griffin standing left on barley stalk, head facing, 
                        spear in mouth, off foreleg raised. Kraay-Hirmer 440. 
                        Gulbenkian 588-590. Du Chastel 179. Jameson 2145. Very 
                        rare and of fine style. Scattered faint surface marks 
                        and minor edge bumps at 6:00 and 7:00, otherwise 
                        virtually as struck
