Reverse: Ionic column surmounted by statue; at base, two ears of corn; on right, M. Minucius Faesus standing, holding lituus; on left L. Minucius Augurinus standing holding dish, foot on modius. Above, RO-MA, Around TI. MINVCI. C.F.AVGVRINI. Condition: VF/good VF, Coin is better than picture. This coin has decent metal. Struck from a rusty die, but does not detract significantly. Great reverse scene. Can make out the arms and legs of the statue atop the Ionic column. Full legible legend on reverse. Valuation: Why Valuation? Uncommon reverse; Going through 26 CNG and Triton auction catalogs, I only found 2 examples of this coin; in Triton III, lot 890, a choice EF was estimated at $300 and sold for $425 + 10%; and, in CNG 37, lot 1253, a VF was estimated at $100 and sold for $100 + 10%. This coin has a much nicer reverse than lot 1253, and, of course, the Triton III example is much nicer. Size: 3.80 grams, die axis=1.5, flan 2.0 mm thick, 18 mm in diameter.
