                                Description

     This piece was minted in 100 AD, during the early part of the
     reign of Trajan, who ruled from 98-117 AD. The empire reached its
     greatest geographic extent under Trajan, the direct result of his
     many military triumphs. The obverse of this type depicts the
     laureate head of Trajan facing right, with legends
     IMP.CAES.NERVA.TRAIAN.AVG.GERM. The reverse features Victory,
     draped, seated left, holding patera and palm, with legends
     P.M.TR.P.COS.III.P.P. Coin grades a choice VF+, with bold devices
     and legends all around, a nice high relief portrait, and
     attractive original colour with much underlying mint lustre. The
     scanner just cannot do this one justice! A very choice example of
     this early type of Trajan, catalouged as RSC-239. All coins
     guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays
     postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds. PA
