Indian Tribute Penny

Roman denarii were used in trade with the east and became a standard currency 
in India. When the senate in Rome imposed restrictions on the export of money, a severe
shortage of coin in India caused some enterprising traders to mint their own full weight denarii. 
These are not counterfeits.

Indian denarii typically have a larger than normal eye.
