EF / F, though flatly struck, with almost no wear, brown patina. A puzzling piece with a portrait strongly resembling Tetricus II, with a light beard. The legends are quite fragmentary but readable at the key locations including the title A[VG]ustus. Tetricus was Augustus for a short period during the invasion of Aurelian. A similar piece appeared in an Empire Coins fixed price list# 70 (1992) , Lot 120 ($250 in glossy EF) Perhaps barbarous. RIC notes, "The antoniniani are often of slovenly work and bad shape, and it is difficult to draw an exact line between them and the best of the irregular issues.
