argenteus (3.67 gm).

ROMAN EMPIRE. Maximinus II, as Caesar (AD 305-308). 
Silver argenteus (3.67 gm). Serdica, ca. AD 305-306 or 
306-307. MAXIMI-NVS NOB C, laureate head right / VIRTVS 
MILITVM, three-turreted camp gate, open, no doors, 
.SM.SDG. in exergue. RIC 22 (R5), new officina G (= 3). 
RSC 206. Cohen 206 (Vienna, 100 Fr.). Exceedingly rare 
denomination for Maximinus II: RIC cites only a single 
specimen (in Vienna), from a different officina. Small 
"ding" on forehead, otherwise good extremely fine 

RIC collocates this exceedingly rare issue with argentei 
of Severus II as Augustus (RIC 21), dated AD 306-307. 
But commentary on p. 488 notes the possibility that it 
may belong instead with argentei of Constantius I and 
Galerius as Augusti (RIC 11a and 11b), issued in AD 
305-306 and both offered above.
