                  This piece designates a wish for the safe return of
                  the emperor from a voyage -- in this case, most likely
                  the Armenian expedition.  Verus received the title of
                  Armeniacus for this expedition, even though he played
                  little or no role in the actual waging of the
                  campaign.  This piece has distinctive coloring, with
                  clay toning highlighting the richly patinated metal.
