MQ Scarce Hostilian / Eagle Unsold at $200.00 Aug-29-01 [Image] Seller melqart 11.9 gr., 25 mm, Alexandria. AE or low billon Tetradrachm. A scarce ruler in great condition That interesting Hostilian tetradrachm appears to be a variant of Sear 4301, from Greek Imperial Coins, with the eagle facing right instead of left, and without the two pellets beneath the obverse bust. The issuing city was Antiochia ad Orontem in Seleucis and Pieria, Syria. The inscription on both coins looks exactly the same: Oual. Ostilian. Me. Kuintos Kesar on the obverse, and Demarkh. Exousias on the back, although the inscription at the top of the reverse is partially cut off.
