Description This coin was minted in the name of Herennius Etruscus, who was the son of Trajan Decius. He was given the rank of Caesar in 250 AD, and created Augustus the following year. Shortly afterwards, however, he and his father were killed in battle against the Goths at Abrittus. The obverse of this type depicts the radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Herennius Etruscus facing right, with legends Q.HER.ETR.MES.DECIVS.NOB.C. The reverse features Etruscus standing left in military dress, holding wand and transverse spear, with legends PRINCIPI.IVVENTVTIS. This piece shows a little peripheral striking weakness, but otherwise grades a Choice EF, with clear legends, bold devices, and choice lustrous surfaces. A super choice example of the scarcer coinage of Herennius Etruscus, this piece is catalogued as RSC-26. All coins guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds. PA residents please add appropriate sales tax. Visa/MC accepted for orders of $20 or more. Member ANA, PAN.
