            Antinous, Favorite of Hadrian. Orichalcum medallion, 37-38 mm (57.17 
            gm). Phrygia, Ancyra. ÁÍÔÉÍÏÏC - ÈÅÏC, bare-headed, draped bust 
            right / IOVË CATOPNINOC ANKVPA[NOIC], Men standing left, wearing 
            Phrygian cap, crescent behind shoulders, holding anchor and scepter. 
            NFA X, 17-18 September 1981, 341 (this coin). Cf. Blum, Antinoos, p. 
            51, 1 (smaller size, 34 mm). Apparently unique as a medallion; 
            otherwise known only in sestertius size. Several minor pits on 
            obverse and some isolated pitting on reverse. Extremely handsome 
            portrait of Antinous. Obverse with a glossy olive patina. Good very 
            fine/good fine.
