                                Description

     This piece was minted at Antioch in the name of Aelia Flaccilla,
     who was the first wife of Theodosius I and mother of the future
     emperors Arcadius and Honorius. She died in 386 AD. The obverse
     depicts the draped bust of Aelia Flaccilla facing right, wearing
     elaborate headdress and pearl necklace, with legends
     AEL.FLACCILLA.AVG. The reverse features Victory seated right,
     inscribing a Christogram on shield set on cippus, with legends
     SALVS.REIPVBLICAE. The mint/oficina mark ANTB appears in the
     exergue. Coin shows smooth green and reddish patina, and grades a
     nice F+, with clear devices and legends all around. A pleasing
     example of the scarcer coinage of Aelia Flaccilla! All coins
     guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays
     postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds. PA
