Reverse: CAESAR IMP PONT III VIR R P C; Bare head of Octavian right. Condition: VF, Coin is slightly better than picture. It is a nice VF for the issue. Good smooth metal with darker toning in fields and recesses and slightly lighter on the high surfaces. Well centered portraits of each. There are no bankers marks which were prevalent in this era. Very respectable example of this coin. Valuation: Compare to similar types in CNG 54, lot 1338, where a toned nice VF estimated at $600 sold for $600 + 10%; in CNG 53, lot 1350, where a toned nice VF estimated at $500 sold for $800 + 10%; this coin is better centered than lot 1350 and has a bit more wear than both CNG examples.
